Senior Associate Attorney - Position Open at Matlin Law Group

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Estate Planning Attorney with 5 to 7 years of experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of estate law and taxation, along with proven experience drafting complex estate planning documents. This attorney will be responsible for managing a variety of estate planning matters, advising high-net-worth individuals, and overseeing estate and trust administration processes.


Responsibilities:




• Advise clients on estate planning strategies to preserve and transfer wealth, minimize taxes, and ensure compliance with applicable laws.


• Draft comprehensive estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.


• Develop and implement sophisticated estate and tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families.


• Handle estate and trust administration, including probate proceedings, preparation of estate tax returns, and trust funding.


• Review and analyze client assets and financial portfolios to tailor personalized estate plans.


• Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to ensure seamless execution of estate plans.


Represent clients in probate court when necessary, handling contested and uncontested estate matters.


• Stay current on federal and state tax laws, regulations, and estate planning trends.


• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff.


• Foster and maintain client relationships, providing ongoing counsel and support throughout the estate planning process.


Qualifications:



• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.


• Active bar membership in the state of practice.


• 5 to 7 years of experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration.


• Expertise in estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, gift tax, estate tax, and generation-skipping tax planning.


• Experience handling complex and high-value estates, including knowledge of business succession planning.


• Strong drafting and analytical skills with the ability to produce high-quality legal documents.


• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.


• Ability to manage a large caseload with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.


• Knowledge of tax law as it relates to estate planning (CPA or LLM in Taxation is a plus).


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment:



• Hybrid working model - Primarily office-based environment with opportunity to work remote 1-2 days a week. Occasional travel for client meetings or court appearances.

Full-Time Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
