Subrogation Attorney - Chicago, IL



AV-rated, premier civil litigation firm is searching for an experienced attorney for a national litigation practice in our Chicago office. The practice involves investigating a wide range of industrial, commercial, and other property losses, including explosions, fires, building collapses, equipment failures, and other catastrophic events and accidents for subrogation purposes. Many of the cases entail interesting, cutting-edge, and novel scientific and legal issues, requiring inquisitive, creative thinking, technical research and closely collaborating with engineering, industry, and other experts. This position will include the thorough investigation, analysis, and evaluation of opportunities for tort and contact claims, preparation of pleadings and discovery, taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions, and developing a case from its incipient stage through trial.

The ideal candidate for this associate position will have 2-5 years of complex litigation experience. Product or construction defect experience and strong litigation abilities are valued. Subrogation experience is a plus. Strong writing, research, and analytical abilities are desired. Effective interpersonal communication skills and excellent academic credentials required. The position may entail periodic travel in the U.S. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, with a generous bonus package and substantial benefits package offered.
