Paralegal
Aronberg Goldgehn, a Chicago-based mid-size law firm, has an immediate opening for a highly organized, multi-tasking Paralegal to support the firm's Financial and Estate Planning Group in its Wheaton office. The applicant must be proficient at working independently, a self-starter and have 1 to 3 years of experience. The firm offers a great work environment and benefits package.
The Estate Planning Paralegal will perform a variety of confidential duties to support the department's functions. Must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Drafting estate planning documents (including Powers of Attorney, HIPAA Releases, Assignments of Personal Effects, Trust Certification Letters)
Preparing documents for signature
Preparing estate planning binders with final documents
Drafting correspondence containing trust funding recommendations
- Preparing asset equalization charts
- Working with clients and financial advisors to retitle assets
Trust Administration
- Filing Wills
- Preparing SS-4 forms
- Preparing correspondence to Successor Trustees
- Preparing correspondence to beneficiaries
- Preparing Trust Inventory and Accounting
- Preparing estate plan illustrations
- Obtaining EIN numbers
- Preparing Small Estate Affidavits
- Preparing receipt and releases
Researching and e-recording property deeds
-Preparing transfer tax exempt forms and submitting to appropriate municipality
Maintaining deadlines for all estate planning clients
Maintaining and updating estate planning spreadsheet
