Our law firm is seeking a matrimonial attorney who can assist our clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Job seekers should be equally familiarity with prenuptial agreements, divorce, alimony, child support and real estate, and be able to effectively engage in oral debate and negotiation in highly stressful and emotional situations. Collaborate with senior litigators and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process;
Create legal documents including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments and orders for a high volume of cases;
Keep client files properly organized and updated;
Represent clients in court proceedings as needed;
Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action;
Advise clients in all aspects of divorce, child custody, and related matters;
Meet new prospective clients and inform them of the benefits of our firm;
Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law;
Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendants;
At least 3 years' litigation experience, preferably in matrimonial law;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills in high conflict situations;
J.D. and active Illinois Bar license.
