HeplerBroom LLC, a large defense firm, is currently seeking a licensed Associate Attorney with
2-4 years of experience in third party liability, insurance fraud, and insurance coverage. The position will be in our Chicago, IL office.
Assist partners in the management of a thriving injury defense/medical fraud and coverage practice;
Actively assist in the defense of numerous case files from case inception through trial;
Handle depositions of parties, witnesses, treating physicians and experts;
Draft and argue routine and substantive motions;
Attend court hearings in several different counties and courthouses and by Zoom;
Prepare status and trial strategy reports to clients;
Handle all aspects of discovery, including drafting and answering interrogatories, production requests, and requests to admit;
If the candidate demonstrates a thorough grasp of the issues and strategies in trial files, he or she will have opportunities to handle jury trials.
This position requires:
Good standing with the Illinois bar;
Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written, and a willingness to proactively seek guidance with work tasks when necessary. Must be able to provide writing samples prior to interview;
Strong research and analytical skills;
Deposition experience preferred;
Meaningful litigation experience preferred;
While not required, the ideal candidate would also have an Indiana license.
