EMPLOYMENT LAW ASSOCIATE POSITION (OPTION TO WORK REMOTELY)
LaPointe Law is a 10-attorney employment defense law firm located in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Our clients are franchisees of a global corporation, Fortune 500 companies itigation. We are seeking an associate who may work entirely remotely or, depending on place of residence and experience, a hybrid of remote and in-person. We take pride in our firm's collegial, collaborative, and supportive work environment. In order to facilitate a healthy work-life balance for our attorneys, we maintain a reasonable billable hour requirement of 1600 hours annually.
Employment Law Associate Responsibilities:
Associate responsibilities include counseling clients on employment matters, drafting and reviewing employment policies and employee handbooks, investigating and responding to state and federal charges of discrimination, conducting legal research, drafting memoranda, motions and briefs related to employment litigation matters, appearing in court on motions, taking and defending depositions and assisting with case strategy and preparation. Associates work directly with clients and closely with firm partners.
Required Qualifications: An ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years of employment litigation and counseling experience in a law firm setting and would be highly effective at communicating verbally, as well as in writing. In addition, candidates should have a strong work ethic, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, stellar academic credentials, and must be a member in good standing of bar of one or more states.
