Chicago office of an International law firm has an immediate opening for a Litigation Associate with at least 3-5 years' experience. Attorney will be responsible for the day to day handling of cases filed within Illinois as well as help oversee a National client account. Admission to Illinois bar is required.
The case load will include handling various toxic tort, product liability, general liability and commercial litigation files. Candidate must be able to independently manage a busy caseload, which includes answering complaints, writing and responding to dispositive motions, issuing and answering written discovery, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, attending court hearings and trials. Attorney must be willing to travel, including occasional overnight travel.
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and license to practice law in Illinois. Experience researching and writing motions, taking and defending depositions, and handling court appearances is required. Experience taking lead in plaintiff and expert depositions preferred. Must be willing to work independently and manage paralegals. Candidate should be organized, efficient and have excellent research and writing skills. Ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, analyze complex issues, and communicate effectively.
